Nielsen's Steve Hasker to Lead CAA Global

Former Nielsen COO Steve Hasker is joining American entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA) as Chief Executive Officer of its recently restructured investment arm, CAA Global.

Steve HaskerCAA represents more than 1,000 of the world's top athletes in football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, tennis and golf, while also working in the areas of broadcast rights, corporate marketing initiatives, licensing, and sports properties for sales and sponsorship opportunities.

Hasker (pictured) joins after eight years at Nielsen - initially as President, Media Product Leadership and Advertiser Solutions, and then President of Media Products, responsible for strategy and development of media products and services. The latter includes measurement of TV, online and mobile media as well as ongoing innovation around cross-media measurement.

Latterly, as Global President and COO of Nielsen Holdings, he oversaw all commercial data and product-related activities for both the media and consumer businesses. He was previously a Partner in McKinsey & Company's Global Media, Entertainment and Information practice.

In his new role, commencing in January, Hasker will manage the 'intersection' between CAA's representation service and its businesses and investments, which include CAA China, the agency's merchant bank Evolution Media, CAA Ventures, and Vancouver-based Creative Labs. He will also join the group's Board of Directors, and oversee strategic planning, M&A, investing and corporate development initiatives, and data strategy.
