Atkins is New MD at Populus

UK-based fieldwork and data delivery firm Populus Data Solutions (PDS) has promoted Chris Atkins to Managing Director, replacing Patrick Diamond who will move to focus on leading client innovations. Meanwhile Tim Hughes is promoted to become a second Deputy MD, alongside Tiziana Del Bene.

Chris Atkins and Tim HughesThe firm runs an online panel, PopulusLive, as well as a CATI centre; and also offers dashboard / visualisation solutions. Winner of the MRS Operations Award for Best Data Solution for the last three years, it is part of the Populus Group of companies.

Atkins and Hughes (pictured) will start in their new roles on April 1st. Atkins was Group Account Director at Toluna before joining PDS as Business Development Director three and a half years ago. Hughes joined seven years ago, when PDS was created with ICM Direct veteran Diamond at its head. Del Bene was appointed, in her current role, six months later.

Diamond says Atkins has had 'a tremendous impact on the business' and adds: 'We are certain he will continue to grow the business with Tiziana and Tim as we adapt to meet new challenges in data generation'. Atkins himself says hs is 'incredibly proud' to lead the company's 'fantastic team', and adds: 'Innovation has always been a big part of our ethos, having won the MRS Operations award for Best Data Solution for the last 3 years and I am delighted that Patrick will focus on new developments in this area for the benefit of all of our clients'.
