Clarivate Hires President for Life Sciences Division

In London, innovation analytics provider Clarivate has appointed Mukhtar Ahmed as President - Life Sciences, responsible for the strategic leadership of the division.

Mukhtar AhmedThe company, which was formed following the sale of Thomson Reuters' IP & Science business to Onex Corporation and Baring Private Equity Asia in 2016, uses analytics-based services and content to help clients develop new ideas. Ahmed (pictured) joins with a career spanning 25 years in the healthcare industry. Most recently, he worked for clinical research technology solutions provider Bioclinica as President of eHealth Solutions, and before this he held senior executive posts at Oracle Corporation, Parexel and Kendle International, and Board-level positions with the UK's National Health Service. In addition, he has served as an industry advisor to several medical device, clinical laboratory, mobile health start-up and private equity companies; he is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine; and he chairs the Digital Health Committee for Life Sciences.

At Clarivate, Ahmed reports to Philadelphia-based CEO Jay Nadler, who comments: 'Mukhtar's appointment completes our executive leadership team. His significant expertise across industries, particularly life sciences, as well as proven leadership experience, make him the ideal candidate to lead our Life Sciences team into the future and will enable the division to accelerate its strategic objectives and support the wider business'.
