Founder Chan Leaves Pureprofile

Consumer data firm Pureprofile has lost its founder and former CEO, Paul Chan, who steps down from the Board and his current roles of MD and Chief Innovations Officer immediately, leaving CEO Nic Jones and Executive Chairman Andrew Edwards in charge.

Pureprofile was founded by Chan in 2000, and had earnings of $1.7m for the six months ending December 31st 2017, according to Australia media industry publication www.mumbrella.com.au . The company collects consumers' profiling data in exchange for rewards, and offers ad targeting, content strategy and research panel services. It bought digital lead generation company Cohort Holdings Australia Pty Ltd in September 2016, and now counts Cohort as one of four subsidiary firms, alongside Sparcmedia, AdSparc and Bidobo.

The latest announcement was made on the ASX - where the company listed in 2015 - and gives no information as to Chan's next move.

Edwards (pictured) was appointed as Executive Chairman at the start of 2017, and Jones as CEO late in the year - between these two announcements, the firm struck a partnership deal with Branded Research Inc., giving it access to the latter's panel of 1.7 million consumer research profiles in the US, UK and Canada. Pureprofile also says it is about to appoint a new CFO and CTO, as well as a new MD for its UK office.

Edwards praised Chan's 'immense achievement' in taking the company from a start-up to listing on the ASX, and wished him every success in his new ventures. He added: 'Nic is putting in place key infrastructure and support pieces, which will set the business up for long-term growth and expansion. The positive impact he has already had on the Company is visible and Nic and I look forward to speaking with investors on the opportunities that lie ahead for Pureprofile'.
