Populus Data Solutions Debuts Opinion Influencers Panel

Data collection and processing business Populus Data Solutions (PDS) has launched a rapid response 'Opinion Influencers' panel, which it says is the first of its kind in the UK.

Chris AtkinsThe firm runs an online panel, PopulusLive, as well as a CATI centre; and also offers dashboard / visualisation solutions. In addition, PDS has developed a bespoke algorithm identifying 8% of the British public as 'Opinion Influencers', and the new panel provides access to this segment and further insight into how it behaves. The panel will be offered as a next day polling service and as an analysis variable on the company's online omnibus. PDS defines Opinion Influencers as those who are:

  • Highly active in their community - demonstrated by actions such as starting online campaigns, writing to newspapers and magazines, and putting themselves forward for elected positions
  • Actively sought out for their advice - by extended family, senior colleagues, experts, and members of their local community
  • Future-shapers - pointing towards future trends in behaviour and attitudes.
