New CEO and LA Office for Cello's Pulsar

November 15 2018

In the US, Cello-owned audience intelligence division Pulsar has named co-founder Francesco D'Orazio as its new Chief Executive Officer. The firm has also opened an office in Los Angeles, to support clients in the media, healthcare and entertainment sectors.

Francesco D'OrazioPulsar, which is based out of London and New York City, was initially launched in 2013 under the name Pulsar TRAC (Topic, Reach, Audience, Content). The firm measures conversation reach, maps brand audiences and tracks content, while analysing the social media connections, interests and digital behaviour of the authors. Last year, Cello merged Pulsar with its innovation consultancy FACE, and the 60 person company is now anticipating around $12m in sales this year.

D'Orazio (pictured) set up Pulsar while serving as Head of Social Media Research at FACE. He takes over the position of CEO from Pulsar and FACE co-founder Job Muscroft, who left last December to set up a residential property company. Mark Scott, CEO of Cello Health, comments: 'The social media listening industry is undergoing a wave of consolidation, and its value is moving from simple brand tracking to creating an ongoing feed of audience insights into organizations. Francesco is the ideal person to lead Pulsar during this industry shakeout phase, bringing to the table a mix of excellence in product design, big data, and audience research'.
