Mintel Partners to Provide CPG Market Predictions

Consumer intelligence provider Mintel has announced a patent analysis partnership with Cipher, to provide an 'early warning system' of new developments in the consumer packaged goods market.

Peter HaighCipher uses artificial intelligence to analyse patents, and the deal gives Mintel access to insights extracted from global patent data, to predict where the food, drink and beauty and personal care industries are heading. As part of the deal, Mintel will publish regular insights on what companies are starting to invest in and where new technologies are being developed to address changing consumer needs.

Peter Haigh (pictured), Mintel CEO, commented: 'Working with Cipher will allow our experts to harness the power of AI to understand faster and earlier how the food and drink and beauty and personal care industries could develop. Currently, companies only have access to very one-dimensional patent analysis. Using advanced AI analysis, Mintel will be able to deliver accurate and predictive analysis to those interested in research and development and innovation'.
