MRBA Auction Kicks Off

March 4 2019

The Market Research Benevolent Association (MRBA) has begun its annual online auction. Bid for a legendary Tariq Mirza curry dinner for six, or a £200 voucher for Michelin star restaurant Core; or just get your colleagues to try DRNO this month and we'll donate.

Mirza or Gordon Ramsey? - the choice is yoursThe MRBA is funded by donations from across the market research sector, and since 1977 has provided financial support and advice to UK-based colleagues who work or have worked in any aspect of market research. Open to everyone, the annual auction is the charity's most important fundraising event and last year raised almost £7,000.

This year's auction runs until 18th March, and gives you the opportunity to bid for SampleNinja founder Mirza's culinary skills - he'll cook dinner for six at the winner's home in Europe or the US - or dine at former Gordon Ramsay chef Clare Smyth's restaurant Core. Other lots include:

  • A five-day stay at a farmhouse in Percy, France
  • 'Front row' tickets to watch Chelsea at Stamford Bridge
  • An Apple watch series 4
  • Two tickets to see the musical Hamilton at London's Victoria Palace Theatre
  • A children's party with face painting and magic show
  • Three bottles of Puligny-Montrachet 2015
  • a bottle of House of Commons Speaker Bercow's 10-year old single malt.

Raz Khan, Chairman of research tech firm Cobalt Sky, says of the auction: 'The MRBA does a valuable job of helping people from the MR industry who have fallen on hard times. I'd like to think that every MR company would consider supporting the MRBA, in order to assist those who have helped make our businesses successful'.

The auction web site is now live at: www.32auctions.com/mrba2019 , new lots will be added regularly, and donations can still be made by e-mailing: linda.henshall@newfieldwork.co.uk .

In addition, MrWeb will donate £1 to the charity for every person signing up for these DRNO daily emails during the month of March, to a maximum of £1,000 (better put that in although it would be going some...) so if you don't want to bid for anything but still want to help, invite a few colleagues to subscribe to DRNO here: www.mrweb.com/drno/reg-colleague.htm . It's free of charge and not linked to any other commitments or lists, as you're probably aware. All we'll insist on is a minimum of one month required before unsubscribing, for donation to apply.
