Escalent (formerly Market Strategies International-Morpace) has announced that Chief Information Officer Sharna Morelli has decided to retire, while John Sivak has been promoted to Senior Vice President, leading the firm's IT division from its Livonia, MI headquarters.
The agency, which combines proprietary data capture methods and technologies with industry expertise and a visualization toolset, was formed when research firms Morpace and Market Strategies International were acquired and merged last summer by private equity firm STG (Symphony Technology Group). Then in May, the merged company was rebranded as Escalent.
Morelli originally joined Morpace as a tab programmer in 1979, and after holding a number of senior roles became the firm's COO and Executive Vice President in 2015. After last year's merger, she assumed the role of CIO to oversee the firm's IT infrastructure and solutions and unite the technology and data management systems of the companies. Sivak has worked alongside Morelli for more than twenty years, having originally joined Morpace as a web programmer in 1997. He is now responsible for managing the company's IT needs, supporting new product development with technology solutions and providing guidance and technical strategy to company leadership. He will also serve as a member of Escalent's executive committee.
CEO Melissa Sauter comments: 'Sharna's contributions to this company are innumerable and her achievements will not be forgotten. We are going to miss her tremendously but are excited for her to start a new chapter in her life. And, we're equally excited for John to assume the top leadership role in IT. He is a seasoned professional with decades of experience that will be valuable as we continue to leverage technology and software-driven analytics to deliver high-quality, high-value customer engagements'.
