Watch Me Think Debuts Post Launch Review Solution

August 4 2020

Behavioural research agency Watch Me Think has launched a qual-based evaluation approach for new consumer products, called the Post Launch Consumer Review (PLCR).

Alistair VinceFrom its offices in the UK, US and Australia, Watch Me Think recruits participants to record their own or their families' experiences and opinions about client brands, on their smartphones, in their own homes; and then applies 'human-led' analysis to deliver reports and videos. The new PLCR solution has been developed to help clients evaluate and improve the in-market performance of new products early in the post launch cycle, and identify areas for optimization.

This service addresses a number of circumstances in which brands need guidance for marketing and selling new products - such as during innovation, to understand regional lift, and for competitive intelligence - particularly in the food and beverage, household, health and personal care, and foodservice sectors. Observing actual behaviour from consumer generated videos, PLCRs measure the 6Ps of the marketing mix - price, place, promotion, product, pack and proposition. Results of each PLCR are delivered in an interactive scorecard, linking to the consumer videos, with each of the 6Ps assessed and scored, and an overall evaluation for the product included. The firm's qualitative researchers then provide analysis based on observing consumers in their self-generated videos, and make the recommendations needed to refine a new product, in order to drive greater sales.

CEO and founder Alistair Vince (pictured) comments: 'With the additional human-led analysis on top of an unambiguous score, PLCRs give brands a stronger story to tell their trading partners. When we show clients how rich the details are in each PLCR analysis, how fast we can turn them around and how little they cost, it becomes a no-brainer. We believe that any brand who has put so much time and money into getting a new product to the shelf will see this as an invaluable step to protect that investment'.
