Chorus.ai Wins Patent for Real-Time Sales Call Analysis

September 25 2020

Conversation analysis platform Chorus.ai has been awarded a patent for a system which models sales calls in real time and estimates the probability of each possible outcome for the call. The firm says this gives it thirteen patents, 'the most robust portfolio' in its market.

Jim BentonThe latest addition aims to help sales reps and/or their managers improve and guide the outcome of calls. As well as estimating probabilities of outcomes, the system highlights specific approaches likely to be conducive or detrimental to the desired outcome. As well as improving the probability of the desired outcome, this can be used to 'optimize for call duration with a specific outcome'.

Chorus was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in Tel Aviv and Boston. Since the beginning of 2019 it has doubled its headcount and tripled revenue growth. Other patents cover tracking of sales rep performance, company-wide messaging, voice of the customer and revenue pipeline. Since raising $45m in a Series C round of funding in July, the firm has further stepped up its innovation program, and earlier this month it launched new analytics capabilities, providing insights into clients' customer relationships.

Chorus CEO Jim Benton (pictured) says the firm's platform 'brings the customer relationship to the forefront of every call and the voice of the customer back to every decision'. He adds: 'Our team has spent years purposefully inventing technology that will equip our users with the best Conversation Intelligence technology to understand the conversation and the relationships that drive deals, renewals, and engagement'. VP of Research Raphael Cohen comments: 'Building technology for sales teams requires both a 10,000-foot view of the industry and real-life experience, including a clear understanding of the challenges and obstacles facing Account Executives, SDRs, Customer Success Managers, and Revenue leadership'.
