Former Netflix Research Leader Joins MarketCast

In Los Angeles, entertainment insights business MarketCast has appointed former Netflix exec Zoë Friend as Corporate SVP of Custom Research and Insights.

Zoe FriendMarketCast research, analytics and data science supports studios, entertainment platforms, sports and lifestyle brands. Earlier this year, the company acquired data science services provider Deductive, and integrated its previous acquisitions of social digital opinion measurement firm Fizziology, custom research and insights specialist Insight Strategy Group, and sports researcher Turnkey Intelligence under the MarketCast brand and leadership team.

Friend (pictured) joins after more than five years at streaming entertainment service Netflix, where she led the firm's Content and Marketing Research and Insights practice, growing the team to more than 40 researchers. Prior to this, she worked for Paramount Pictures as SVP, Worldwide Research and Strategy; and served as MD of Penn Schoen Berland-owned movie research agency First Movies.

In her new role, Friend will lead the Custom Research practice across all the firm's business segments, and be responsible for guiding its future direction.
