Insight Climate Collective Delivers Net-Zero Action Plan

In the UK, the Insight Climate Collective (ICC) has launched a report called 'Net-Zero In Sight', setting out goals that research businesses must commit to, in order to eliminate the emissions generated by the industry by 2026.

Launched at the end of 2020, the ICC comprises representatives from across the sector who are calling on the industry to come together and play its part in tackling the environmental crisis. A year ago, ICC launched a survey through which all UK insight sector professionals were able to provide their views on climate change.

Results published in the Net-Zero In Sight report have highlighted the need to engage employees across the industry - with 95% viewing climate change as an urgent issue, but 55% reporting that tackling climate change is not a priority for their organisation. The report analyses the carbon emissions across the whole sector, identifying areas where companies can reduce their impact - including air travel and office energy.

Offering practical advice alongside financial and resource considerations, the report outlines five priorities for businesses looking to help tackle the climate emergency, and recommends that MRS partners sign up to the Net-Zero pledge and that non-members adopt the same timeframe for reducing emissions by 2026.

We have an ambitious timeline to turn this around, but ambition is needed in this era-defining struggle.'
