Quirkos Launches Web Browser Version

March 31 2022

In Edinburgh, qualitative text analysis software firm Quirkos has launched an updated version of its flagship solution, which works entirely in a web browser.

Daniel TurnerQuirkos' software allows users to code and explore qualitative text and open-ended responses, with an interface displaying 'bubbles' to represent emerging themes. The new version, Quirkos Web, provides an 'intuitive interface' in a browser window, without any software to install. The package offers support for mobile and tablet devices, allowing researchers to work on projects wherever they are, find insights, and produce colourful outputs for reports and presentations.

The new version builds on the foundation of Quirkos Cloud, launched three years ago, with new features requested by users, including the ability to work without installing software on their computers. It will also support picture data and emojis to help understand social media, and allows users to code emotions and sentiment.

Company founder Daniel Turner (pictured) comments: 'As more researchers are moving to a hybrid home/office work model, institutions and individuals are looking for services they can access wherever they are, yet still allow them to work collaboratively, on opportunities with colleagues across the globe. Our live collaboration platform makes managing team work incredibly simple and accessible, with no extra fees or limits on project sharing, and this has been a major competitive advantage for us'.
