Savanta Launches European Consumer Confidence Survey

February 24 2023

Next15's data, MR and advisory company Savanta has launched its first European Consumer Confidence survey, which will be run quarterly to understand a range of factors, including awareness of brands' sustainability and data privacy actions.

Olly WarrenCreated in 2019, Savanta aims to combine the deep specialist expertise and tailored, client-first approach of a smaller agency with the resources of a larger firm. Earlier this year the company launched a Qualitative and UX (User Experience) Research division in the US and Canada.

For the first wave of its new survey, Savanta asked more than 3,000 consumers - in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Nordics - about their current and future spending habits. In addition, consumers were quizzed about their attitudes and awareness towards sustainability and data privacy, and their feelings towards DE&I (diversity, equity, and inclusion) initiatives from consumer brands. The study will also be used to identify any sectors likely to struggle in upcoming quarters.

Initial results showed that most consumers know little (51%) to nothing (13%) about how their data is used, resulting in skepticism towards data collection. Olly Warren (pictured), Senior Director EMEA, comments: 'This launch marks a key milestone in our European expansion, as it will provide quarterly insights into consumer sentiment in six markets in mainland Europe. The report serves as an excellent foundation for our efforts to provide better solutions, products and services to our European customers so they can make better decisions'.
