comScore Networks has acquired online custom research provider SurveySite, Inc. Jeff Hohner, President of Toronto-based SurveySite, will be President of the newly branded comScore SurveySite.
The buy complements comScore's acquisition of Q2 in August last year (see DRNO www.mrweb.com/drno/news3329.htm ), giving the ambitious parent a strong custom Internet-based offer. Industry estimates show that survey research is moving online at a rapid rate: US online research spending grew 22% from 2003 to 2004, and is expected to account for 29% of approximately $3.0 billion to be spent on survey research in 2005, according to Inside Research (January 2005).
