Momentum Gathers Senior Partners

Portland, Oregon-based Momentum Market Intelligence has appointed three Senior Partners: Steve Perry, John Jessen, and Brian Cavoto.

Perry was Executive VP and CRO at MARC, where he revamped the ASSESSOR model and made it MARC's principal line of business. He specialises in new product evaluation and forecasting, with additional focus on pricing, optimization and brand equity analysis. In addition to serving clients, he will be helping Momentum develop intellectual property and deepening the company's methodological and technical expertise.

Prior to MARC, Perry led the MR departments of both UnionMutual Insurance and Florida Power & Light. He started his career in research at R.J. Reynolds after earning his BA from Rutgers and MA from Harvard University.

Jessen, a strategic researcher with a focus on technology markets, will lead the continuing development of Momentum's telecoms business, while providing support to IT clients. His experience covers advertising and brand research, NPD and optimization, positioning and product performance research.

Jessen was President of qual MR form Soundings, and VP with market development responsibility at both NFOW and Chadwick Martin Bailey Inc. Previously, he Jessen developed the IT consulting practice at ABT Associates. He began his career at Wang Laboratories where he directed the worldwide customer satisfaction program and supported services marketing.

Cavoto brings statistical and methodological expertise from both consumer and business contexts. Besides working directly with IT and telecommunications clients, he will use his experience with syndicated data and forecasting high technology market changes to develop new product offerings.

Cavoto joins from the research and analytics group at Harte-Hanks Market Intelligence. Prior to that, he helped DiscoverWhy launch a new software application for conducting research over the Internet using streaming video; worked as a statistical consultant for SPSS; and in academia teaching classes in industrial/organizational psychology. He earned his BA from University of Connecticut and Ph.D from Tufts University.
