Former Leo Burnett Chair Joins Bovitz

November 6 2025

Insights-led consulting and marketing firm Bovitz has appointed high profile ad industry exec Cheryl Berman as Chief Creative Officer, helping to shape strategy in both the insights and marketing services practices.

Cheryl BermanThe company's qual and quant insights division is branded as Bovitz, while the marketing services division is called Boombox. It recently hired Material veteran David Sackman as CEO, and then last month added his former colleague Kim Shrut as MD of a new business unit.

Berman (pictured) will combine the new role with working at AI-powered ad agency Ad Legends, and at Unbundled, a branding and innovation company she founded. She brings experience from more than three decades at Leo Burnett, latterly in the role of Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, earlier held by Leo Burnett himself. During this time she helped bring in more than half of the agency's key accounts, including McDonald's, Disney, Hallmark, PetSmart, Altoids, Coca-Cola and Kraft; as well as working on the Procter & Gamble account for many years.

As the first woman ever elected to Leo Burnett's Board of Directors, she is a prominent advocate for elevating and empowering women in advertising, and launched both the 'Miss Understood' and 'Women on the Rise' movements, both dedicated to helping women reach their full potential and helping brands communicate to women with 'greater authenticity and respect.'
