It's high season for UK conference calls and awards announcements, so if you've done anything you're particularly proud of lately - MR-oriented that is - take note. The Worshipful Company of Marketors wants entries for the first ever marketing book prize, the MRS has called for papers for its 2006 conference, and the IGD is looking for examples of consumer insight.
The Worshipful Company of Marketors (also known as just the Marketors) is one of the modern livery companies in the City of London, with a mission of encouraging excellence in marketing education and practice. The prize, sponsored by Kogan Page, will go to a book on any aspect of marketing published in 2004.
The three independent judges are Professor Merlin Stone, Business Research Leader with IBM, and IBM Professor of Relationship Marketing at Bristol Business School; Professor Richard Elliott, Professor of Marketing at Warwick Business School; and Former Economist publisher David Hanger. Winners will receive £500 and a Marketors medal and certificate, presented by Sir Paul Judge, Master of the Marketors, at the company's annual dinner in October.
