Hitwise Buys Search Marketing Specialist

Online intelligence provider Hitwise has acquired HitDynamics, a technology platform used by agencies and web site marketers to implement search marketing campaigns and track the success of their PPC, search engine optimization and affiliate marketing campaigns.

Hitwise CEO Andrew Walsh describes the buy as 'a significant strategic acquisition, which will give our clients access to the first integrated platform that seamlessly leverages our unique, daily competitive intelligence data to drive cutting edge online customer acquisition, retention and optimization strategies.'

Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed. HitDynamics will operate independently for a period, and continue to service its existing client base in Europe, before the technology is integrated with Hitwise's established services.

Each day, Hitwise monitors how more than 25 million Internet users interact with over 500,000 websites across 160 industry categories, via a combination of ISP data partnerships and opt-in panels.
