New Search Product to Use Behavioural Data

April 25 2006

US-based traffic analysis firm WebSideStory, Inc. has launched Search 4.0, claimed as 'the first site search solution to automatically integrate site search and web site behavioral data'. The product uses patent-pending 'Active Ranking' technology to rank search results for marketers based on a variety of visitor metrics.

Ranking options include conversion rate, entry pages and most requested pages and visits. The new version integrates with the company's HBX Analytics solution via its Stream Reporting interface and includes other innovations such as guided site navigation, a tenfold increase in search capacity, and automated SEO sitemap and shopping engine feeds.

Susan Aldrich, Senior VP of Boston-based customer experience analysts Patricia Seybold Group, sees the launch as a major step forward: 'Driving site search relevancy based on a full set of web analytics data is an important innovation in the market. Combine that with its on-demand model and other new capabilities, and WebSideStory Search 4.0 has set itself apart as a top choice for enterprise site search.'

The company is online at www.websidestory.com .
