April 11 2007

Synovate Healthcare has promoted Stuart Bartlett to the post of Head of Business Development. He hands his former role, as Head of Synovate Healthcare Asia Pacific, to Sumit Sharma.

Bartlett has led the firm's Asia Pacific business in Singapore for the past four years, during which time he has overseen the opening of business units in Taiwan and Thailand, and the launch of oncology and diabetes monitors and an online physician panel. Here he spent four years specialising in sales and ad hoc research, before being promoted to head the firm's Hong Kong office.

Bartlett's returns to the UK to take up his new role, which will involve sourcing potential acquisitions and alliances, and developing the firm's Key Account Management Programme.

Sharma joins from Frost & Sullivan where he was Practice Director for the firm's healthcare business divisions in EMEA. He will be tasked with continuing to grow the business in Asia Pacific.

Michael Spedding, CEO of Synovate Healthcare said: 'These are exciting roles for Stuart, Sumit and Synovate Healthcare. Stuart has done a fantastic job of managing our Asia Pacific business. I have no doubt that he will make a significant contribution to the development of Synovate Healthcare in this new role. I am also delighted that Sumit has joined us – his background and experience, both in healthcare and research, uniquely qualify him to build on our success in Asia Pacific and drive the business to even greater heights.'
