Hitwise Adds RSS Summary Service

Online audience measurement firm Hitwise has launched a new service, Hitwise To Go, an RSS-based service providing updates on online consumer activity and statistics. The firm say the key audiences are journalists and academics.

Based on the company's coverage of more than 25 million Internet users across more than 900,000 web sites every day, the new service gives a picture of how people search and interact. Data is divided by region and samples topics such as the growth of newly launched sites, rankings of popular sites, the effect of web 2.0 technologies on specific industries, and demographics or social group segments.

Tessa Court, the firm's Chief Marketing Officer claims: 'Hitwise To Go provides a venue to instantly share with the broader online community timely online usage data.' The service will operate in the US, UK and Asia Pacific markets.

Established in 1997, Hitwise is headquartered in New York City. It also operates in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Singapore and is on the web at www.hitwise.com .
