Hitwise To Provide Weekly e-Commerce Data

October 23 2007

Online intelligence firm Hitwise has launched a service to provide e-tailers with weekly online shopping trend data based on how US Internet users interact with more than 20,000 sites.

Data from the new Retail Data Center will be available across 21 shopping categories such as video games, electronics and apparel, and will illustrate which web sites consumers are visiting and which terms they are searching for online.

The site will feature data on a market-by-market basis including:

  • Most visited retail sites
  • Top shopping search terms
  • Most visited shopping sites
  • Top four fast moving shopping sites
  • Links to online shopping related blogs posted by Hitwise analysts.

In addition to providing shopping data for US e-tailers, e-commerce hubs in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong will have reports available within the Hitwise web sites for those countries.

Earlier in the month, Hitwise launched an updated version of its lifestyle tool, which provides attitudinal and behavioural customer segmentation data on more than 30,000 sites ( www.mrweb.com/drno/news7448.htm ). The firm, which was purchased by Experian in April ( www.mrweb.com/drno/news6691.htm ), is online at: www.hitwise.com.
