IDG Promotes Two

US firm IDG Research Services has promoted VP Janet King to the post of General Manager, while Charles Lee has been named VP of Business Development, Corporate Sales for IDG Communications.

Janet King and Charles LeeKing joined the firm as a PC industry Analyst in 1989, and was promoted to Vice President three years ago. She is a member of the American Business Media Research Committee and the Interactive Advertising Bureau's Research Council. King has a BS degree from Alfred University and MBA from Babson College.

Since Lee joined in 2005, he has helped increase revenue by 15%. His expanded role includes responsibility for market intelligence and new business development across IDG's products and platforms. Previous, he spent 11 years in sales, marketing and integrated media and custom publishing management positions at Ziff Davis. He received a bachelor's degree in history at the University of Vermont.

Commented Senior VP Matthew Yorke: 'Both Janet and Charles have had outstanding years. Research and key account sales play an increasingly important role in support of client requirements for marketing programs across IDG media and event brands.'
