In London, social network site Facebook has hired Trevor Johnson for its Market Development division, where he will oversee trade marketing and market development. The UK team is run by Blake Chandlee, who joined in October as the firm's first European employee.Johnson joined AOL UK in 2002, and left his former position as Head of Consumer Insights in February following a reorganisation which saw a number of Marketing and Insights executives leave, including Head of UK Marketing Barry Flanigan who is now Marketing Director at the Telegraph Media Group.
Prior to working at AOL, Johnson was a Business and Strategic Analyst with Ernst and Young, and a Senior Research Executive with Ipsos. He has a BA in Modern History and Sociology from the University of Reading.
Founded in February 2004, Facebook is a social utility that helps people communicate with their friends, family and coworkers. Last summer, the firm launched a polling feature called Facebook Polls, to enable marketers to pose quick questions to its vast user base.
