Nunwood Retakes Top MRS Award

Nunwood took the prize for Best Agency at last night's MRS Research Awards in London, the second time it has done so. It beat off competition from FreshMinds, which has won for the past two years.

Nunwood impressed the judges with the way it had a positive impact on clients' businesses, its emphasis on results, and its overarching focus on linking action with return on investment.

'Nunwood has a positive approach to both clients and staff that is clearly paying dividends,' the judges said. 'The agency has delivered an outstanding business performance this year that has been underpinned by a number of market-leading innovations. An agency that is punching above its weight and a worthy winner.'

This year's awards also saw the debut of the new Consumer Insights category, which was presented to Andy Moore of Vodafone and Fiona Blades of MESH Planning for their development of a new media product.

Krishan Lathigra from the Government's Central Office of Information (COI) and Nancy MacDonald of 2CV Research were also recognised for their approach to understanding young people's financial needs, as joint winners of the new Financial Services award, alongside Opinion Leader.

Professor Michael Thomas, Chair of the MRS Awards Panel, commented: 'It is encouraging to have seen such an appetite for the new categories we introduced this year. Last night's excellent line-up proved once again that research is central to business and policy in today's world; long may this continue.'
