Ipsos Posts Good Growth, Seeks More This Year

Ipsos has reported full-year organic growth of 7.8% with revenues up 5.6% to EUR 979.3m from 2007. The group says that in 2009 it intends to deliver further growth, while maintaining margins - at the very least - at their 2008 level.

During the year, Ipsos acquired agriculture and animal health specialist Forward Research; media research agency Monroe Mendelsohn Research; Buenos Aires-based Livra Panels; auto researchers Alfacom and B-Thinking; and 60% of the Strategic Puls group. These additions contributed 3.7% to the group's revenues.

A breakdown by geographic area shows growth in developing countries, steady growth in Western Europe and moderate growth in North America and Japan:

While advertising research and customer satisfaction research experienced a slowdown towards the end of the year, opinion research and media research recorded a double-digit rate of organic growth.
