Former Forrester Man is New Simulmedia CMO

May 29 2014

NYC-based television ad targeting company Simulmedia has appointed former Forrester Research exec David Cooperstein as Chief Marketing Officer.

David CoopersteinSimulmedia offers a TV ad platform that uses predictive technologies and anonymous viewing data from more than 50 million US households to help advertisers reach their target audiences, and to measure the results. Last year, the firm launched a tool measuring and comparing the number of viewers who saw ads for a particular TV program and those who actually went on to watch it as a result.

Cooperstein (pictured) brings 25 years of strategy and marketing experience. He spent the past five years leading the CMO Research practice at Forrester, and also worked for the company from 1996 to 2002 leading its Telecom and Retail industry divisions. He began his career as a Research Analyst in Booz Allen's Transportation/Logistics practice, and has also held senior roles at Burst Media, Gather, Northwest Airlines, and Gemini Consulting, where he latterly served as Director of Research and Consulting. He also set up his own company, Magellan Group, to provide strategy and analysis for firms in the high tech field.

He replaces Lindsay Jurist-Rosner, who has left to start her own web business after two years with the firm. She was previously Marketing Manager at Microsoft, at advertising services company Spot Runner, and at online news publication The Atlantic.

Commenting on Cooperstein's appointment, Simulmedia CEO Dave Morgan said: 'David has the depth of knowledge and ability to objectively engage with marketers to help them better understand what we do at Simulmedia and how it benefits everyone in the television ecosystem. We are very excited to have David join the Simulmedia family.'
