June 15 2015

Customer analytics provider Symphony EYC has strengthened its team in Asia with the appointments of Oscar Garcia-Velasco as VP Asia Pacific and Japan, and Henry Chen as General Manager of Greater China.

The firm, which launched a loyalty campaign management and analytics platform called Engage and a new category planning platform called Insights 2 Execution within 2 months in the winter of 2013-14, says the hires will help meet demand for its flagship G.O.L.D. unified retail platform in Asia Pacific markets.

Garcia-Velasco joins from NET(net) where he was responsible for development and expansion in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. In 25 years in the IT industry he has worked for companies including IBM, SSA and Torex, in Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Japan.

Chen will report to Garcia-Velasco and will manage G.O.L.D. business in the People's Republic, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. His more than 15 years of experience include work for SSA Global, Infor and Torex, bringing retail, manufacturing and distribution solutions to the Chinese market.

Graeme Cooksley, President & MD, Symphony EYC G.O.L.D., says the new arrivals, both 'exceptional individuals with solid backgrounds and deep domain expertise in enterprise retail systems', will help the company 'take advantage of the increased demand for omni-channel retailing as well as the strong economic growth in the region'.
