New Financing for Fast-Growing Searchmetrics

Berlin-based SEO and analytics software firm Searchmetrics has announced almost $8m in new financing, for use in growing the company.

The new financing comes via a debt facility from European firm Kreos Capital, and will allow Searchmetrics to develop and introduce new products and services. The company has raised more than $31m in five rounds of equity funding since starting out in late 2007, and last year saw global sales rise 74%, and US sales by almost 140%.

CEO Volker Smid (pictured), who joined last September, comments: 'In Kreos, we found an ideal partner to refine and expand our investments in the product and in customer service. We look forward to continuing the momentum seen in the first five months of the year'.
