Merkle Buys CX Specialist Axis41

Data-driven CRM and performance marketing agency Merkle has acquired customer experience specialist Axis41, based in Salt Lake City.

David WilliamsThis is Merkle's first buy since its own acquisition in August by Dentsu Aegis Network, which says the latest addition supports its strategy of building a set of full-scale people-based marketing capabilities rooted in data, analytics and technology. Axis41's more than 170 employees will join the Merkle team, bringing skills in areas including brand development, content strategy, UI/UX and web marketing; and the buy adds more than $25 million in revenue to Merkle's marketing cloud practice.

Axis41 founding partners, Ron Pynes, Strategic Services; Steve Wiest, Creative Services; and Reed Wright, Technical Services, will join Merkle's Senior Management Team.

Merkle has more than 3,400 employees and is headquartered in Columbia, MD, with 15 additional offices in the US and offices in Barcelona, London, Shanghai and Nanjing.
