Comscore Gets Household Device ID Patent

Comscore has been awarded a US Patent for 'Device Identification System and Methods', covering the use of household router meters to anonymously identify individuals within a household.

Comscore Gains Patent for Household Device IdentificationAccording to the firm this award, its 78th US patent in the last five years, will enable it to draw 'even more precise, granular insights' into consumer behavior for its digital and cross-platform measurement. In July, Comscore received a patent for Protecting User Privacy During Collection of Demographics Census Data; and earlier this month, it was granted a patent for its System and Methods for Transmitting Content Based on Co-Location, covering the firm's proprietary device graph system through which devices co-located within a household are tagged and identified.
