Radius Global Market Research has appointed former GutCheck and Woxi leader Rob Wengel as its new CEO, replacing MD Chip Lister who remains on the Board and will serve as an advisor to the company.Radius, once known as DDW, was founded in 1960 and has offices across the US and globally. The firm offers a system called the Brand Growth Navigator framework to clients in sectors including technology, financial services and consumer goods, promising to help them align insights with strategic priorities to maximize ROI. Last year it acquired London company Strive Insight (recently rebranded as Radius EMEA), and automotive-focused Michigan agency 7th Sense, and in January this year it added Austin, Texas-based Illuminas North America.
Wengel brings around 40 years of business experience, originally from sales and marketing roles at P&G, Tambrands and Reckitt Benckiser. Since the turn of the century he has worked more than twenty years in research firms, including four in SVP and EVP roles at IRI, nine at what is now NielsenIQ, two as an EVP at Kantar. Most recently he has served as President and CEO at agile research firm GutCheck - now part of Toluna - and predictive analytics platform Woxi, where he was President and Chief Commercial Officer.
Radius said in a statement that under Lister's direction it has 'matured into a globally respected insights consultancy, known for its activation-oriented frameworks and trusted partnerships.' Lister himself says of his replacement, 'Rob was carefully selected for his demonstrated leadership and ability to create new opportunities for the organizations we serve. He brings a sharp insights perspective and a clear vision for how our work can evolve in step with the dynamic needs of our clients.'
