In New York, cross-platform video analytics and optimization platform datafuelX has appointed former WarnerMedia and TelevisaUnivision exec Dan Aversano as its new Chief Executive Officer. He succeeds Jay Amato, who has led the firm since it was founded in 2022.
datafuelX was formed by by long-time media industry execs Amato, Howard Shimmel and Spencer Lambert. The firm uses predictive analytics solutions to forecast and optimize advertising audiences and outcomes, via a full-service SaaS platform called M3. It also offers a dynamic reach and frequency tool, precisionX, for whose technology it won a U.S. patent last year.
Aversano (pictured), who was part of the datafuelX team at launch, brings to his new role more than twenty years of experience across global media, data and advertising. Most recently he served as Executive Vice President at TelevisaUnivision, which is a partner of datafuelX alongside the likes of A&E Networks, CBS Syndication, Fox, Hallmark, Nexstar and Scripps. Prior to TelevisaUnivision, Aversano spent nearly a decade at WarnerMedia (formerly Turner Broadcasting), latterly as SVP of Ad Innovation and Programmatic Solutions, helping to build and scale the advanced advertising offer, helping to launch cross-publisher audience targeting platform OpenAP, and playing a central role in integrating advertising strategy following AT&T's acquisition of Time Warner. He is also a board member of AI-native video marketplace Audyns, which he will continue to advise.
In his new role he will lead datafuelX into its 'next phase of expansion,' and drive its evolution from a data-driven linear (DDL) platform into a broader video intelligence and analytics company serving the CTV marketplace. He comments: 'Jay built an extraordinary foundation for datafuelX and was instrumental in establishing DDL as a viable and scalable buying and selling model. I'm grateful for his leadership and vision. As we look ahead, our opportunity is to expand beyond linear optimization and apply our data, technology, and intelligence across the full video ecosystem. This next chapter is about scale, innovation, and delivering measurable outcomes in an increasingly complex, multi-currency world.'
