comScore Signs 3-Year Czech Measurement Deal

May 13 2011

The Czech Association for Internet Advertising (SPIR) has awarded comScore a three-year contract to supply the official common currency for online and mobile media audience measurement in the country, replacing the current provider, the Gemius and Mediaresearch partnership.

Ján SimkanièSPIR is a professional association which conducts research into the socio-demographic profiles of Internet users through its NetMonitor program, and also fields AdMonitoring, a project analysing Internet advertising. Gemius/Mediaresearch had been running the online measurement project since February 2005.

New supplier comScore expects to deliver initial data on the Czech market in early 2012. The new NetMonitor wave will include measurement of socio-demographic profiles, online video viewing behavior and the mobile Internet market. It will also look at technologies such as readers and tablet computers.

SPIR says comScore won on a number of factors, including price, flexibility, international expertise, supplier references and the technical parameters and development potential of the system.

SPIR Chairman Ján Simkaniè (pictured), who is also the co-founder of web analytics firm Internet Info, adds: 'Furthermore the quality of comScore´s analytical tools and experience in inclusion of new technologies placed the firm well above any other supplier in the tender process '.
