Gemius Wins Slovak Internet Audience Contract

August 9 2011

The joint industry committee IAB Slovakia has awarded the country's official Internet audience measurement contract to online research firm Gemius, working with partner Mediaresearch. The contract runs until January 2015.

Tomas GregorIAB Slovakia, (Interactive Advertising Bureau, previously known as the Association of Internet Media, AIM) is a partnership of Slovak companies established to provide ethical and legal standards for Internet advertising. The new wave of its 'AIMMonitor' project kicks off in January 2012 and includes web site audience measurement, online video audience research, and a study of mobile Internet users and usage.

The measure will include Internet users aged 12+, and Gemius will use its Traffic 2.0 web analytics tool to analyze the sociodemographic structure of audiences. Tomas Gregor, Director of Gemius Slovakia, says it will also be the first time his firm will use its new 'EC prim' methodology, reducing the time needed for data calculations.

Gregor adds: 'Winning the tender for online audience measurement in Slovakia is our great success, as the preparation and development of the solutions we offered was very intensive. We hope that the improvements offered in the new wave of the AIMMonitor project will deliver reliable data about Internet users using PC's and mobile devices to all media associated in IAB Slovakia as well as analysts and journalists.'
