Change at the Top for Experian

Global information services company Experian has selected CEO Don Robert to become its new Chairman, following the resignation of co-founder Sir John Peace, who will step down from his role by the 2014 AGM. CFO Brian Cassin will succeed Robert as CEO.

Don Robert and Brian CassinBest known publicly for its credit risk management and fraud prevention services, Experian provides businesses with data and analytical tools including targeting and automated decision-making software and support.

Robert, who has been CEO since 2007, joined the company as COO in 2001 from First American bank, where he was responsible for the Consumer Information and Services Group. He began his career with fifteen years at bank holding company US Bancorp, where he held a number of senior roles.

Cassin, who has more than 22 years' experience in the corporate financial advisory sector, became CFO in 2012, having previously worked as a Partner and MD of Greenhill & Co International, before which he was at Baring Brothers in London and New York. In a statement, Experian said that a process has commenced involving external search consultants, to identify and appoint a new Chief Financial Officer, and that this will be an external appointment.

At the AGM on 16th July, George Rose, currently an independent Non-Executive Director, will become Deputy Chairman & Senior Independent Director, succeeding Sir Alan Rudge who will retire from the Board.

Commenting on the leadership changes, Rudge said: 'We focused on making sure that the company will continue to benefit from valuable continuity within the senior leadership of the business into the medium term. We believe that the appointments of Don, Brian and George, combined with the very capable and experienced existing Board members, will ensure continuing success for the company in future years.'
