In the UK, outsourcing giant Capita has acquired business intelligence and analytics company Barrachd, for an undisclosed sum.
Based in Edinburgh and London, Barrachd develops software to help customers track key business issues, and as an IBM business partner has a dedicated Cognos consultancy team. The company employs 38 members of staff, and following the acquisition will join Capital's Digital & Software Solutions division. It will continue to led by current directors Grant Smith, Clark Wilson and Robbie Crawford.
Capita CEO Andy Parker comments: 'Our clients in both the private and public sector are increasingly looking at how they can benefit from analytical technology, both to enhance their customer service but also to explore new markets and opportunities for growth. Barrachd has a great record of working with companies to detect, gather and monitor business critical information, helping them to identify problems and solve issues'.
