Merkle Hires Former Arbitron CEO Creamer

US-based consumer insights and analytics specialist Merkle has appointed former Arbitron CEO Sean Creamer as EVP and Chief Financial Officer.

Sean CreamerIn his new role, Creamer will lead the global finance group, provide strategic and financial insight, and help the firm prioritize business opportunities.

With more than 3,400 employees, Merkle is headquartered in Columbia, MD and has fifteen additional offices in the US and operations in Barcelona, London, Shanghai and Nanjing. Creamer (pictured) joins from sports, media and entertainment venue business The Madison Square Garden Company, where he had served as EVP/CFO since 2014. Before this, he spent nine years at radio ratings giant Arbitron, and latterly as CEO was part of the team which led the firm's $1.26bn acquisition by Nielsen. He left Arbitron following the sale. Earlier in his career, he held senior financial roles at Laureate International Universities, Exxon Mobil and PwC.

At Merkle, Creamer joins the Board of Directors, and reports to Chairman and CEO David Williams, who comments: 'Sean's strong qualifications and strategic mindset make him the perfect fit to take our financial management to the next level.
