B2B media company Ascential plc has announced the acquisition of US-based e-commerce analytics provider One Click Retail, for an initial cash consideration of $44m plus future earn outs.
On completion - expected on 31st August - One Click will sit within Ascential's Information Services segment.
One Click, founded in 2013 by former Amazon and Walmart executive Spencer Millerberg (pictured) and based in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, provides analytics services to help major brands optimize their eCommerce activities, generally via an annual subscription to a Dashboard insights product. Recent additions to its portfolio include eCommSEO (to optimize eCommerce search rankings), PromoTrack (to enable tracking and optimizing of promotional activity) and 3P Track (covering third party sales in the broader Amazon marketplace). The firm had unaudited revenue of $4.9m and Adjusted EBITDA of $3.4m for the twelve month period ending December 2015 - but is growing very rapidly with annualised subscription contract value at $10.1m as of July 2016.
Ascential says it has identified information services to the eCommerce industry as an attractive area for acquisitions, and aims to cross-sell products as well as extend its services.
