Shapiro+Raj Names MD for Health and Wellness Practice

Research and insights firm Shapiro+Raj has appointed Muhammad Asim as Managing Director of its Health and Wellness Practice (HWP), based in its Chicago HQ.

The firm, which has additional offices in New York and Pune, India, was formed in 2014 when business transformation specialist Zain Raj acquired a majority interest in independent MR firm Shapiro. Last year, the company acquired real-time social media listening and analytics specialist MutualMind.

Asim (pictured) joins from full-service healthcare market research agency Purdie Pascoe, where as SVP and Head of US Operations, he was responsible for the growth and strategic direction of the company Stateside. Prior to this, he spent ten years at Ipsos Healthcare (and previously at Synovate Healthcare before its acquisition by Ipsos), managing the Medtech team in the US. He began his career at the Advisory Board Company, providing best practice research, consulting and advisory services to hospitals and health systems.

In his new role with the HWP practice (formerly known as CarbonSix), Asim will lead pharmaceutical and healthcare-focused client teams.
