Next Generation Join Family Business SBS

In the US, Survey & Ballot Systems (SBS), which provides election services to member-based organizations, has announced three new hires as part of a long-term succession plan. Dave J., John P. and Peter J. are sons of current co-owners Jon G. and Peter M. Westerhaus.

The latter are brothers and have spent twenty-nine years growing the company from a start-up to a global operator providing 'secure and fair' voting solutions for member organisations including cooperatives, professional societies, mutual and agricultural associations, credit unions and unions. SBS helps these clients to engage and enfranchise members in the voting and survey process, and give validity to results.

The three sons start this September. Dave J. Westerhaus, previously a Project Management contractor at CHS Inc. focusing on IT security, compliance and infrastructure projects, joins in an operations role and is a 2017 graduate of Saint John's University (MN) with a BA in global business leadership. John P. Westerhaus, CPA, brings experience of audit and public accounting from KPMG and Merrill Corporation, and is a 2014 graduate of the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management with BSc's in accounting and marketing. Peter J. Westerhaus, who joins in a sales role, worked as an investment banking analyst for Lake Street Capital Markets, helping with equity capital market transactions and M&A advisory services. He is the founder and Chair of Achieving Cures Together, a non-profit that targets microbial restoration research. He is also a Carlson School graduate (2016) with a BSC in finance.

Company President Jon G.
