March 9 2020

UK agency group Unlimited has appointed Lee Gibbons as Managing Director of its sports offering, responsible for driving growth across sports and entertainment using existing agency capabilities and through a partnership with US-based sports sponsorship and entertainment agency Integrity 9.

Lee GibbonsPreviously known as Creston, and sold to fund manager DBAY in 2016, Unlimited uses a data-led approach - combining human understanding with art and science - to find the best way to drive growth for clients, and then evaluates effectiveness through advanced analytics, quant and qual research. Gibbons (pictured) joins after a career which has included working for IMG Consulting, advising clients on their involvement with the Torino 2006 and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. He then spent eight years as Senior Director of adidas, latterly responsible for sports marketing in the UK and Ireland, after leading the brand's London 2012 Olympic sponsorship. More recently, he was Commercial Director of Northampton Saints, charged with growing revenues across sponsorship, hospitality and retail.

In his new role, Gibbons is tasked with building a 'holistic' sports marketing offering, blending neuro science, data science and behavioural science, together with traditional insight techniques to understand the audience ('the fan'). Unlimited CEO Tim Hassett, comments: 'The unique blend of our existing brand and sponsorship activation capabilities combined with Lee's deep sport expertise and the strategic relationship with Integrity 9 in the US, means we are perfectly placed to provide brands and rights holders with world-class marketing solutions'.
