Maven Buys UX Personalization Firm LiftIgniter

March 20 2020

In the US, thought leader publisher coalition Maven has acquired user experience (UX) personalization specialist LiftIgniter for an undisclosed sum.

Jon ShalowitzFounded in 2014, San Francisco-based LiftIgniter uses machine learning algorithms to determine in-the-moment user interest and intent, and produce a personalized online experience including on-site and in-app content recommendations. Clients can ensure that new and returning customers see relevant recommendations, personalized for each visitor; prevent visitors from seeing old or previously purchased content; and establish placement rules that guide visitors to the most relevant content.

The deal combines LiftIgniter's data from more than 100 million users with a similar number from Maven's 100 million, and will see the former's recommendation engine integrated into the latter's publishing, social media, distribution, subscription and advertising platform.

LiftIgniter CEO Jon Shalowitz (pictured) comments: 'We are thrilled to join the Maven team and see our technology utilized across such a massive and respected platform. Maven tested our technology as a customer, and having them step forward and acquire the company as a result, gives a feeling of validation and accomplishment for our great team at LiftIgniter'.
