Rewired Seeks UK and US Investment Opportunities

April 2 2020

London-based AI-focused venture studio Rewired is looking to make investments of $5m to $30m in US and UK businesses across the machine learning, robotics, bionics, smart sensors, mapping and localisation sectors.

Laurent BischofA venture studio creates start-ups, usually by providing the initial team, strategic direction and capital. Backed by investors who Rewired says believe that analysts are underestimating the prospects of artificial intelligence, the firm will seek to attain a substantial or majority position as an investor, and to then provide long-term funding and expertise. According to Rewired, this frees founders from the burden of constant fundraising so they can focus on growth, while avoiding the dilution that venture capitalists typically accept during multiple funding rounds.

Rewired is seeking to back ventures that require growth capital to scale existing proprietary solutions, and says the founders and management behind these ventures must have commercial credibility in their marketplace.

Rewired has also made two new appointments in its Swiss office - Laurent Bischof (pictured), the co-founder of Bloom Social Analytics, an AI platform dedicated to analysis of social media networks, joins as a Board Director; and Marc-Olivier Bertholet has joined as a special advisor, with more than twenty years of international biotech and medtech experience.
