Southern Cross Austereo Forms New Insights Unit

August 6 2020

Australian media group Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has brought together its Research & Insights and Strategy & Insights divisions to form a media research and insights unit called SCA iQ.

Abi WallisSCA reaches more than 95% of the Australian population through its radio, television and digital assets. The new SCA iQ unit combines the research, insights and strategy functions in order to deliver insights-led solutions for the group's sales and content teams, as well as its advertising partners.

The new division houses the firm's Asia Pacific entertainment insight community with more than 300,000 members in metro and regional areas, offering behavioural insights to help shape insight-led content strategies and partner solutions. It also uses Nielsen tools, combined with SCA's first party data, to enable the planning and testing of solutions across channels, and to influence consumers at different stages in the path to purchase.

Abi Wallis (pictured) has been named National Head of Strategy & Insights for SCA iQ, supported by Jasmine Beech as Head of Sales Research and Insights. SCA National Head of Radio Sales, Nikki Rooke, comments: 'Bringing our research and strategy insights teams together to form SCA iQ propels our content and sales insights to a new level, especially as the way audio is consumed changes and areas such as live streaming, podcasting and on demand grow exponentially. Our insight communities sit within the centre of the business and it's those insights that drive the business and our client solutions forward'.
