Seed Funds for Customer Insights Provider Tally Street

September 11 2020

In the US, customer insights and analytics provider Tally Street has raised $750k in a seed round of funding.

Brian SuthoffThe firm is based in Boston, MA and was co-founded by Brian Suthoff (pictured), who set up mobile data targeting and engagement platform Localytics, and then sold it to Upland Software earlier this year. Suthoff and his fellow Tally Street co-founders Jim Hall and Steve Frank have now launched a solution to help uncover customer insights from accounting data, enabling businesses to find out more about their most valuable and profitable customers, and what products drive repeat business, without requiring SMBs to have their own data scientists. Using AI, statistics and smart software, the firm offers a 'virtual analyst' which automatically analyzes customer retention, and flags changes in purchasing and payment behavior.

Commenting on the reasons behind the launch of Tally Street, Suthoff explains: 'Large companies had tools like Localytics and we had insanely talented analysts and software engineers to build whatever we needed, but I had neither of those things when growing a small, not so high-tech business'.

The funding round was led by Launchpad Venture Group, and follows a previous investment from The Association of International Certified Professional Accountants and CPA.com, which invested in the company as part of their start-up accelerator earlier this year.
