NPD Group Buys Analytics Firm Pricing Excellence

US-based researcher The NPD Group has acquired Pricing Excellence, a retail analytics company. Founder Nathan Krol joins NPD and will continue to lead the business for his firm's current product offerings Market Insight and Data Ladder, now potentially enhanced with NPD data.

Karyn SchoenbartNPD says it will leverage Pricing Excellence expertise and machine learning to enhance recently introduced tracking services for the Home Improvement industry. More generally, the buy complements its 'robust portfolio of information services' across more than twenty sectors with new methodologies, boosting its offer across emerging channels and allowing it to provide more granular data, faster.
