In Zug, Switzerland, end-to-end data management firm Redslim has announced the acquisition of retailer data specialist CatMan Solution.Redslim helps clients in the CPG and consumer healthcare sectors across more than 55 countries to realize the full ROI of their market data, bringing together unstructured and fragmented information and transforming it into ready-to-use data sets, for insights on commercial performance, market shares, marketing, innovation and pricing. In the past eighteen months it has partnered with Kantar, which uses its SPRINT BI front-end to enhance the insights available from WorldpanelPlus; and corporate data management and integration firm Databricks, which will help scale its tech. Last year Redslim was majority acquired by European private equity firm Astorg, providing funds for expansion into new regions and use cases.
CatMan Solution helps FMCG companies in the Nordics unlock the full potential of their data. The firm focuses on retail measurement, helping clients with category and sales management. It is also a specialist in retailer data harmonization and Power BI visualization, which Redslim says will strengthen its client-focused offering, giving a more comprehensive and granular view of markets, and allowing more rapid innovation.
Alberto Alcaniz, Co-CEO at Redslim, says the buy is part of the long-term growth plan agreed with Astorg, to bring more value to clients, and 'represents a natural evolution of [the firm's] mission to make complex data useable and actionable with deliberate investment in this part of the world and in retailer data where companies are demanding more support than data supply alone.'
Erik Svensen (pictured), co-founder at CatMan Solution, adds: 'Redslim shares our mission to simplify data complexity for clients. Joining with Redslim allows us to scale our impact significantly while maintaining the innovation focus that has made CatMan successful.'
